about
Who am I ?
My name is Amélie and I am the founder of Petite édition.
As a dress historian (M.A. History), I find inspiration by looking at historical fashions and vintage designs to create practical and romantic garments. Some of my designs borrow from historical elements (historybounding) while others are reproductions of extant garments.
Like the name of this project might tell you, I also find inspiration inside books of all genres and various works of fiction.
My main goal is to make knowledge about old sewing techniques used in garment construction more accessible.
Creations

petite édition
Petite édition offers inclusive sewing patterns inspired by history and fiction that are designed so you can sew your own garments.
Each pattern consists of a PDF file package that includes one A4/ US Letter format to print at home, one A0 format to print in a printing shop and one illustrated instruction booklet.
Designed for various heights
Contrary to many sewing pattern brands that are designing for only one height - usually 1m68 or 1m70 - Petite édition’s sewing patterns suit heights from 1m40 to 1m80.
No standardized sizes
Each Petite édition’s pattern require to know three to four measurements that you use to cut your pieces. It is very easy : you take your measurements, you choose the closest number in the chart then you cut your pieces accordingly. The adjustement is very close at the first attempt.
Easy to modify or adapt to your body type
Each pattern shows construction lines (such as the center front and center back) so you can adapt the ease of the garment to your preferences or even make stylistic modifications.
