My January project was more complicated than I expected, and I finished it only last week. Even it I had already altered the pattern to fit me in lenght, I still had to rip-stitch, alter the pattern again and sew it again. The good news is, the more I look at the finished garment, the more I love it and I think I will wear this shirt a lot this summer.

After a long delay, I managed to finish the quilt I started last year for my nephew…one week after his birth. Fortunately, the quilt seemed to be much appreciated by the parents (still no reaction from baby though).

A little surprise project for January from a Rosie Caldwell’s Youtube video : two tote bags in a cotton-linen mix. I was interested with the assembly method she showed in her video and thought I should try it. I am happy to report that I am very pleased with the result.

Let’s start 2025 with some sneak peeks of what you can expect on the blog in the coming months relating to my sewing projects, including the future Petite édition sewing patterns.

Today I want to introduce you to my second July project (yes, I am late) which was a version of my Marilla skirt, sewn with various white cotton fabric scraps.

My first sewing project for the month of July was two quilted toiletery bags made from a pattern by Rosie Caldwell. I needed some bags to store toileteries and sewing accessories and I found this pattern while watching the designer’s youtube channel.
